I refuse. I will not slouch and sulk as I announce my determination to tackle this issue. On December the seventh, I stood on the scale and stared at the little screen as it posted the news:
300.0 lbs Even
(If that's not a sign, I don't know what is. )
This is what I look like.
I have one hundred and sixty pounds to lose,
health and vitality to regain.
And I'm going to do it
for me and for my family.

You totally crack me up! (What's to be brave about? You rook mah-velous! I especially like the one of you and the kids on the beach. Of course, losing weight in the interest of good health is a sound idea.)
I love the first picture - that and the hair flipping picture. I agree, losing weight is healthy. Okay, so the last sentence was totally lame, but I don't know how to sound supportive, without sounding judgmental or lame. So we'll go with lame.
Thanks, guys. Oddly, the whole thought scares me in some way. I'm sure I'll pin the feeling down over the course of the next few years of dieting. If not, perhaps the next forty of maintenance will clarify my concern.
I.LOVE.YOU!!!
You are the bravest person I know!
Can I cheer from over here, a stranger in the background? Well, I'm cheering. Go, you.
We'll do it together. Here's to health and vitality. And friendship.
And of course - we all love you no matter what number shows on the scales.
Go you!

I've got your back!!! Call me if you EVER need backup!
Best of luck on losing weight Jami. Just take baby steps and keep going after you have set backs, and there will be some. I know... I've been there myself. Take care!
You go, girlfriend. It's fun to see you and to see your kids. I love the insights.
I'm rooting for you!
I need a lesson in how to "bookmark". I've been checking your blog with my "bookmarks" button and kept seeing the "Inappropriate Touching" one (very funny!) and missed all the more recent ones! Ughh! So, what is your plan to lower that number? I've been climbing every set of stairs I come across and can feel a few new muscles, but the eating part is tougher.
Go go go! We are rootin' for ya!
Way to go!
Now that is my kind of before picture!!
