Weight, Weight, Don't Tell Me!

OK, so I'm forty pounds down. That's a lot, but 260 looks a lot like 300, so I don't have any new pictures.

For a short while I went the medically supervised weight loss route. (That'd be Ph*nt*rm!n* aka legal speed.) I felt like crap. After I took my pill in the morning, it was like I had been struck with narcolepsy. I wasn't hungry, but neither was I awake. The weight loss was swift, but not worth it.

At this point, I am just forgoing sugared foods. Since I am a compulsive overeater, with sugar and flour items topping the binge list, that action alone has been resulting in slow weight loss.

The "plan" is to add good things to my diet and eliminate things that trigger my binging or are just bad for me:
  1. 'Bye sugar.
  2. Buy fruits and veggies.
  3. 'Bye white bread.
  4. Buy whole grains.
  5. 'Bye Diet Coke.
  6. Buy water.
Number five may just keep moving down the list. To quote Miss Scarlett, "I won't think of it now. I can't stand it now. I'll think of it later." Today's job is no sugar and plenty of fruits and veggies. Later is a good time to ponder the rest of the list.

Hey, for the first time in a long time I've felt compelled to lose weight.

I lost 10 pounds a month last year between February and October but have gotten into a really bad holiday/stress eating binge rut since then that I'm tryng to overcome.I dropped from a 22/24 to a 14 and have 50 more pounds to lose. I'm not exactly a paragon of self-control, either.

I try to be good and exercise/eat right for at least 5-6 days of the eat and then I have a cheat day. I always figure that as long as the majority of my days are calorie sin-free it'll all balance out.

Also, I got in the habit of downing a lot of hot non-caffeinated fruity tea because it made me fuller and more satisfied and drinking an abundance of water.

YOU CAN DO IT, JAMI! :)

So at first I was reading fast, and read it as Bye Fruits and Veggies, instead of Buy. And I was very confused what, exactly, you were eating. It all makes so much more sense, no. That's a great achievement - 40 pounds! Way to go!

EBL, I noticed your svelte new look. You look marvelous! You are (one of) my inspiration(s)!

Thora, yeah I got bit by the homophone bug today. Thanks for the encouragement. [BTW, I have a HUGE box of stuff to send to you. I will email for details to see what you actually want/need out of all of this.]

40 pounds is a lot!
Losing weight is super hard, no matter what the course!
I just recently found something that is FINALLY working for me.
Keep it up. I'm sure you are already feeling better.

Losing 40 lbs is fantastic... think of it as over 10% of your body weight gone! Keep up the good work. Doing it slow and steady is the way to go. :)

I think your new plan sounds a lot better than the Phe*N*tr**m*ne or however you spell it. :) And I agree with Kristina; that's a lot lost!

I am with you!! you can keep doing this. We can do so many things, but we stop ourselves for some reason. Don't stop...
When Father gave us this body it was so new to us, we had eons of freedom in premortal life, no body, no stomach aches, no headaches, no muscle pains...no cravings....and then boom! Huge problems..hunger,thirst, aches, pains...it takes some time to master it all. Be patient and know you can do it. And I will do it with you....

Good for you! I have found, the hard way, that if I eat good foods, my body actually craves them. Who knew?
