Gas has sort of leveled off here.
Oh crap. I shouldn't have written that because I'll be inviting trouble.
When I was a boy . . .
It was actually more expensive last week, but I've decided to do beginning of the month coverage. It's come down about 5 cents a gallon. I guess that's good, but at $85/tank that extra 90 cents doesn't really matter that much.
Papa D (weird calling you that-- you're about five minutes older than I) Was gas ten cents a gallon when you were a kid? Twenty? I seem to remember 89 cents a gallon when I was learning to drive the old model-T. I paid no attention to it before then.
I looked it up. It says that in 1984 that gas was $1.21 for a gallon of regular. That seems wrong, but perhaps that price is adjusted for inflation.
